1999 was when I started my 3 ½ year training program as an IT technician at Olympus Soft Imaging Solutions. At this time, the main focus of my work was on electronics, pneumatics and fine mechanics. But even then, I was permitted to manage smaller scale projects on my own. I was quickly given an opportunity to work self responsibly at OSIS. Of course, at the start, there were some lessons to be learned. But, in the end, I gained much confidence in my own skills.
After successfully completing my education, I was given an assistant's position. During the initial part of my time as an assistant, I was given responsibility for production of LM cameras, some of the TEM cameras and entire systems. With the changes that have taken place at OSIS, the production team has continued to change as well. The many new employees made it necessary to restructure our procedures and processes.
Currently, I have been given responsibility for the entire production of a line of light microscopic cameras. Within the context of this task, I have attended many interdisciplinary training courses. This has, among other things, significantly expanded my knowledge of clean-room technology. The ongoing development of my own range of tasks, the opportunity to have one's finger on the pulse of current computer technology developments keeps my job extremely exciting and full of variety.
